Where To Find Workout Routines

Wondering Where To Find Workout Routines?

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote an essay about workout routines here on my website. I explained how I don’t write them for people. Even those who have trained with me for years will not get a prescribed workout routine from me. Why? Because they are useless except in the moment of creation if you want to make it truly effective and not potentially dangerous for the client. I was asked where to find workout routines the other day anyway. While being friendly, my answer didn’t change, because as a professional personal trainer in Austin for over 20 years, I don’t believe an impersonal, generic fitness regimen is worth anyone’s time or money.

Where to find workout routines is likely the easiest question I can field as an Austin gym owner, and trainer. Virtually anywhere. You can go to a multitude of websites that have hip, oiled up people flexing, while smiling to promote their fitness flavor of the week in order to sell you products, or a service, but that has nothing to do with the reality of losing weight, getting stronger, overcoming injuries, or sport specific training. That’s only basic marketing at it’s cheesiest. The size of one’s biceps, or firmness of their derriere, hardly qualifies someone to diagnose imbalances, and their causes, much less remedy them. Just because someone has a physique you admire or aspire to, hardly means they know how to help you achieve it. It’d be like me telling you that since my hair is migrating towards a salt and pepper appearance at 48 years of age, that I can help you look more distinguished. If I ever try to offer advice on that subject matter, please take it with a grain of salt. No pun intended.

Where to find workout routines is basically anywhere. You can go on fitness or nutrition websites. You can go to YouTube and listen to some guy or gal tell you that squats are the be all and end all if you want a firm butt, etc. Is it true? Of course not. It may be true for some people, some of the time, but therein lies the problem with sweeping statements. If you truly want to know where to find workout routines, employ a good, experienced personal trainer and learn all you can from him or her. Read up on nutrition and anatomy, physiology, kinisiology, etc, if you’re truly interested, and make up your own routine. If your finances permit, stick with your personal trainer long term like most all of my clients tend to do, but whatever you do, don’t waste your time or money risking injury on something generic, impersonal, and potentially dangerous to you. If you truly want to know where to find workout routines, start slowly with the basics, and seek both professional, and personal help along the way until you truly know what it is that you are doing and can therefore benefit from the workouts. Working alongside a qualified, professional personal trainer, and/or your experienced mind and imagination. That is where to find workout routines.
